Medusae Salt Co. Sea Salt Flakes

This project involved creating a fictional brand and product for sea salt flakes sourced from the Great Barrier Reef. The brief required that the design be appealing to tourists, stand out amongst competitors, and that the size and weight make the product easy to take in hand-luggage.

The main illustration on the packaging mimics the appearance of coral. The hand-painted spot gloss effect was added to create a rough texture reflective of the coral itself.

The shape of the package derives from Japanese origami folding techniques, which were incorporated to give the packaging an eye-catching, uniqueness in order for it to stand out amongst competitors.
